Our story
It began as a frustration, not a business plan
Too much of what happens in therapy gets described in soft language. A child is doing better. A programme is going well. Everyone nods. Nobody can say by how much, or since when, or which part of the plan did it.
Celia Pearson, a UC Riverside graduate, founded Data Driven Educators to work the other way around. Count first. Write it down. Show the family. When the numbers say a plan is not moving, change the plan instead of changing the way you describe it.
She has been Executive Clinical Director since the beginning, and the standard has not moved as the clinic has grown.
Growth happens in spaces where perfection doesn't exist.
That is the other half of how this place works. Data tells you whether something is moving. It does not ask a child, or a parent, to be perfect, and neither do we. Most progress here looks like a Tuesday that went a little better than the Tuesday before.
Today we work with families from two centers, in Riverside and Desert Hot Springs, and in homes across the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley.
What the name actually means
Four habits, not a slogan
Plenty of clinics say they use data. What that means in practice is narrow and checkable, so here is exactly what we do.
We count before we change anything
The first weeks are measurement, not treatment. You cannot tell whether a plan worked if you never wrote down where you started.
One graph per goal
Not a folder. A line you can look at in ten seconds and see whether it is going up. Ask at any visit and we will turn the screen around.
A flat graph means we rethink
It is a written rule, not a feeling. A flat line is information, and the honest response to it is a different plan, not more effort at the same one.
The family reads the same numbers we do
No parent version and clinician version. If a chart is too complicated to explain to you, it is too complicated to be useful to us.
Where we work
This is a local clinic, on purpose
California has the highest rate of autism identification of any state that reports it. Riverside County is a big part of that, and it is not well served. Families here drive an hour for an appointment, or wait months for a call back.
We are not trying to be everywhere. We are trying to be reachable from Riverside, Moreno Valley, Desert Hot Springs and the towns around them, close enough that a technician can be in your living room on a Tuesday afternoon.

Mission and vision
Our mission
Our mission
To give families ABA that is worth their time. Careful, kind, and built around the person in front of us rather than a template. We want children to grow, to need us less as they do, and to belong where they already are.
Where we are going
To be the people families and professionals in the Inland Empire trust to tell them the truth and to do the work well. Progress you can see, explained in words you can use, from a team that treats your family the way it would want its own treated.
What we hold ourselves to
What we hold ourselves to
Integrity
We would rather lose the work than tell you something that is not so.
- Every goal has a graph behind it, and you can ask to see any of them at any visit.
- A flat graph is our trigger to rethink, not to try harder at the same thing.
- If a family needs speech or occupational therapy more than they need us, we say so and help them find it.
Empathy
The first weeks are about your child liking the person who walks in. Everything else waits.
- Sessions are built around play and what your child is actually motivated by, not a worksheet.
- Goals exist to make life easier for your child, never to make them easier for other people to look at.
- We plan the fade-out from the first month, because needing us less is the point.
Respect
You are a partner in this, and we work the way your family actually lives.
- Spanish-speaking staff, Spanish lessons, Spanish emails. Built in, not translated at the last minute.
- You are in the room for sessions, and the plan is written with you rather than handed to you.
- Every family gets a feedback survey each quarter, and it goes to our Clinical Director.
Who does the work
Three people, one plan
A BCBA, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a graduate degree, writes and owns your child's plan. An Assistant Clinical Manager checks how it is going week to week. A Behavior Technician runs the daily sessions in your home or at the center. You will meet all three, and you will know which one to call.
Come and see how we work
The first call costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
