Questions parents actually ask

The ones that come up on the first call, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

How long is the wait?

It depends on where you are and what you need. We will give you a real number on the first call, not a vague one, and if it is long, we will say so and suggest who else to call.

How many hours a week will my child need?

Nobody can answer that before assessing your child, and anyone who does is guessing. Older studies used 25 to 40 hours; a 2024 trial found 5 to 10 hours worked just as well for many children. We will recommend a number and explain exactly why.

Do I have to be there during sessions?

Yes, for the whole session. One parent or guardian over 18 stays, or an approved caregiver in your place. It is not about supervision. Skills that only ever happen with a therapist do not last, and the handover at the end only works if you saw the session it refers to.

What if it is not working?

You will see it in the data before anyone has to argue about it. When a graph stays flat, we change the plan. We do not wait for a six-month review.

Can my other children be involved?

Often yes, and often it helps. Siblings are frequently the best practice partners a child has.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. We have Spanish-speaking staff, and your portal, lessons and every email we send can be set to Spanish.

What if my child does not have a diagnosis yet?

Call anyway. We can tell you how to get assessed, roughly how long it takes locally, and what you can do while you wait.

Can I stop?

Any time, for any reason, with no penalty. If you tell us why, we will listen, but you never owe us an explanation.

How does this end?

With a plan we write at the start, not one we improvise when funding runs out. As your child meets goals we step the hours down in stages over several months, checking at each stage that the gains hold without us. The aim is for you to need us less, and then not at all.
