What happens after you send this
Four things, in that order
A person reads it
Messages go to our intake coordinator. If you write in Spanish, a Spanish-speaking member of the team replies.
We call you back
At the time of day you told us works. If we miss you, we leave a message and try again.
We ask about your week, not your paperwork
The first call is about what is hard right now. Fifteen minutes is normal. Nothing is decided on it.
We tell you what it would cost
We call your plan or regional center and come back with a real number before you agree to anything.
If you want to be ready
Handy to have, but not required
- Your insurance card, or your regional center case number.
- Any diagnosis paperwork, even if it is old or incomplete.
- The two or three moments in your week that are hardest.
If you have none of this, call anyway. We have started plenty of families from a phone call and nothing else.
Before you write
Quick answers
Do I need a diagnosis first?
No. Call us anyway. We will explain how the diagnosis route works in California and roughly how long each step takes. Families lose months in that maze and one call often saves them one.
Is there a waiting list?
It depends on the town and the hours you need. We will tell you the real wait on the first call rather than after an assessment.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. We have Spanish-speaking staff. Write to us in Spanish and you will get Spanish back.
Is this form private?
It goes to our team and nowhere else. Please do not send medical records through it, once you are working with us we will set up a secure route for those.
What if it turns out you are not right for us?
Then we will say so and tell you who to try instead. We keep a working list of other providers across the Inland Empire, and we would rather give you a name than a waiting list.
